SUMMARY:Choralfest 2018- The Music of the 70s
DESCRIPTION:We will host Choralfest 2018 the week of July 23-27\, with a theme of The Music of the 70s.  The week-long day camp at the Purdue University Fort Wayne Rhinehart Music Center will welcome over 300 new and returning members to a week filled with music and more. \nThe annual camp is the kick-off event for the upcoming FWCC choir season! Ensembles will meet as individual choirs and as a combined group. The week serves as an opportunity for the singers to meet one another or renew friendships\, begin their work as a choir\, and experience other areas of the arts through various activities and guest artists. \nThe week culminates in a free public concert in the Foellinger Outdoor Theatre\, Franke Park\, Friday\, July 27\, 7:00 pm. FWCC Alumni will join the current singers on stage during the final song of the evening. The performance is part of the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation music series and is open to the public

SUMMARY:IPFW Arts Academy Summer Choir Camp
DESCRIPTION:Join in the fun and learn more about the art of singing. Under the direction of Susan LaCroix of Fort Wayne Children’s Choir\, singers will be introduced to basic music theory through musical games\, instruction\, and\, of course\, singing. The week culminates in a short program for parents and family members. This camp is for students entering 1st-6th grade in fall 2018. \nSusan LaCroix is in her 21st year with the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir\, directing the Apprentice Choir and Preparatory Program. A native of Minnesota\, she received a bachelor of arts in education from Concordia University in River Forest\, IL\, and additional training in the child’s voice\, conducting\, and Level One Kodály Certification at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul\, MN. She is a music education specialist and band director at Holy Cross Lutheran School and has taught music education at IPFW\, Unity Lutheran School\, and Southwest Allen County Schools.
