1- Why did you get involved with FWCC? I have been a part of the FWCC board since 2015. I came to learn about FWCC through the Board President. I had an interest in learning about boards in the non-profit sector and I have a love and passion for children and arts. At the timem I was a Family Case Manager and felt that I could assist children that had a passion for singing to join the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir.
2- What were you most surprised to learn about FWCC after getting involved? I was most surprised by the commitment and involvement of other Board Members and the leaders that are sitting at the table to ensure the Fort Wayne Children’s Choir is running under a positive, supportive, and authentic program. I was also surprised at the time and expertise that it takes for the Executive Director to ensure the goals are being met by the organization. Very Impressive!
3- Why do you think FWCC is important to the community? The Fort Wayne Children’s Choir offers rich instruction and education to the youth to ensure they not only know how to sing, but understand music in itself, as well.
4- What is your favorite FWCC memory? My favorite Fort Wayne Children’s Choir memory is the 1st time I heard the children sing after joining the board. I was truly blown away by their voices and the choirs’ ability to sing in other languages. The Fort Wayne Children’s Choir is truly talented.
