Harvest Concert
November 5, 2017 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The Fort Wayne Children’s Choir (FWCC) will host its annual Harvest Concert on Sunday, November 5, in Auer Performance Hall in the Rhinehart Music Center at IPFW. This is the first formal concert of the 2017-18 season. All eight ensembles of the FWCC will have the opportunity to take the stage and explore the theme Color.
“This opening concert revolves around different palates of color. Musical selections often utilize text painting to portray with music compositional techniques a visualization for the listener. The ensembles also will demonstrate various aspects of tone color, using different ways of producing sound to achieve a variety of styles,” says Jonathan Busarow, Executive Artistic Director. “Similarly, students in the choir come from a variety of places and backgrounds. Each week, these young singers demonstrate the ability for music to overcome all differences as they work towards a common goal.”
Over 300 kids from diverse backgrounds will come together for one purpose – to showcase the work and progress they have done following the FWCC curriculum. Singers will demonstrate their command of music literacy while delighting the audience with a variety of selections.
The Harvest Concert begins at 4:00 pm in Auer Performance Hall, IPFW Rhinehart Music Center. Tickets are available through the IPFW ticket office in Gates Athletic Center, 260.481.6555,12:30 – 6:30 pm, or online. The Rhinehart Music Center ticket office will be open Friday, November 3, 4:30-6:30 pm, and at 3:00 pm the day of the concert. Alumni are invited to attend at no charge.
